Cambio, a San Francisco-based commercial real estate (CRE) technology company that has built an AI-native asset management and operations platform, announced the closing of an $18 million Series A funding round at a $100 million valuation.

The financing was led by Maverick Ventures with participation from prominent backers including Y Combinator, Adverb Ventures and a cohort of angel investors from OpenAI, Anthropic and Notion among others. This latest raise brings Cambio’s total funding to approximately $22 million since its inception.

Founded in 2022 by former institutional commercial real estate professionals Leia de Guzman and Stephanie Grayson, Cambio publicly launched its offering in late 2023 after joining Y Combinator’s 2022 summer cohort and completing an extended research and development phase. Since that launch, the company reports rapid enterprise adoption across global markets.

Cambio’s platform is now in use across more than 35 countries and is managing data for commercial portfolios encompassing over 2 billion square feet of real estate. The company has also established a London office to bolster growth in the European Union and Asia-Pacific regions.

AI-Native CRE Platform to Standardize Data

Cambio’s core proposition centers on transforming fragmented and unstructured building data into structured, investment-grade information using advanced artificial intelligence techniques including large language models and agentic workflows. Commercial real estate owners and investors traditionally grapple with vast stores of documents such as spreadsheets, PDFs, invoices and regulatory filings that require extensive manual analysis. Cambio’s technology automates the ingestion, reasoning and synthesis of this data to produce standardized reporting and actionable insights in minutes rather than months.

The platform aims to support institutional asset owners and investors in key decision-making areas such as capital deployment, asset prioritization and return maximization. Cambio’s clients include large investment firms such as Oxford Properties, Nuveen, Principal, BGO and Beacon Capital. Within an industry that is estimated to represent more than $20 trillion in value in the United States alone, the demand for technology that can generate timely insights and reduce operational inefficiencies is significant.

Enterprise SaaS Model and Strategic Growth Plans

Cambio operates under an enterprise software-as-a-service (SaaS) revenue model and plans to allocate the new capital primarily toward scaling its product and engineering capabilities. According to company leadership, this investment will enable the acceleration of development work and enhancements to its AI-driven analytics platform. The funding will also underwrite international expansion efforts and deepen engagement with large institutional customers.

Investors cited the founders’ deep industry knowledge and the platform’s AI-native architecture as key differentiators. Maverick Ventures Managing Director Ryan Isono highlighted that the founding team’s extensive experience managing commercial real estate portfolios provided an intuitive understanding that the challenge was not simply a tooling problem but a fundamental workflow issue. Isono emphasized that Cambio’s approach does not merely overlay AI on existing processes but rearchitects workflows end-to-end in a way that is native to artificial intelligence.

Leadership Expansion and Technical Team

In conjunction with the funding announcement, Cambio has expanded its senior leadership team. The company appointed Lizzie Leon, a Goldman Sachs alumna, as head of product innovation, along with Katerina Kaimakamis leading European and APAC business development. Additional appointments have been reported in operational and partner strategy roles, signaling the company’s focus on broadening its market footprint and product capabilities.

Cambio’s technical team includes engineers and Ph.D. level experts with deep expertise in building science, an important consideration given the challenges inherent in digitizing and analyzing physical real estate data. Investors noted that the combination of domain knowledge and technical talent positions the company to unlock unique and valuable datasets over time.

Market Opportunity and CRE Digital Transformation

The commercial real estate industry has historically been slow to adopt modern technology, relying heavily on manual processes for data collection and analysis. Cambio’s emergence reflects a broader shift toward digital transformation in the sector, driven by the need for real-time analytics, compliance reporting, and data-driven investment strategies. Industry data indicates that global real estate-related startups attracted significant venture capital in 2025, with funding levels rising compared to the prior year, highlighting investor interest in proptech innovation.

With its Series A funding secured, Cambio is positioned to further develop its AI-powered platform and support institutional asset managers seeking to modernize operations, enhance transparency and generate more predictable investment outcomes in an increasingly competitive global market.
