Rokid is developing a next-generation artificial intelligence (AI) agent glasses product in collaboration with a leading Chinese large language model (LLM) developer, aiming to integrate on-device multimodal models and a new AI-driven operating system and user interface, according to industry sources and company disclosures.

Rokid’s initiative reflects a broader strategic push by the Hangzhou-based augmented reality and wearable AI company to enhance its smart glasses portfolio with advanced generative AI and intelligent agent capabilities, building on its existing AI eyewear products and ecosystem partnerships.

Sources close to Rokid and reporting by IT之家 state that the upcoming AI glasses, described as powered by bespoke edge-oriented multimodal LLMs, will feature a redesigned operating system and user interface driven by AI agent functionality, potentially enabling more natural language interaction and automated task execution directly on the device. Current Rokid AI glasses reportedly achieve daily retail sales of around 1,200 units across online and offline channels.

Rokid’s work in this space builds on a series of product launches and technology demonstrations at major industry events. At the 2026 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, the company showcased its AI-enabled eyewear, including the Rokid Ai Glasses Style, a lightweight, display-free model designed for everyday wear with a voice-centric interface and support for multiple AI engines, such as ChatGPT, DeepSeek and Qwen, as well as integrations with global services like Google Maps and Microsoft’s AI translation platform.

Industry and company materials describe Rokid as a longstanding player in human-computer interaction and augmented reality technologies, providing both hardware and software platforms for smart eyewear. The company has developed products that integrate a range of AI models for functions including real-time translation, navigation, and voice activation, and has established ecosystem collaborations with Chinese technology firms such as Alibaba-backed services and international partners.

The collaboration with a major Chinese LLM developer indicates a deepening of Rokid’s AI capabilities in its eyewear lineup. According to reporting, the next-generation glasses will leverage a custom multimodal model optimized for on-device inference, suggesting a shift toward reduced dependence on cloud connectivity for core AI functions, which may improve responsiveness and privacy in user interactions.

Rokid also operates an AI “agent store” that allows users to invoke various AI expert functions through voice commands, covering tasks from travel information queries to daily calculations, highlighting its emphasis on voice-driven AI as a central interface for smart glasses.

The company’s current smart eyewear strategy encompasses both consumer and developer communities, with tens of thousands of registered developers and enterprise partners globally, according to corporate releases. Rokid’s AI and augmented reality products have received industry recognition and awards, and the company has pursued a strategy of opening its AI ecosystem to multiple models and services to enhance international applicability.

Rokid was founded in 2014 with a focus on advancing human-computer interaction technologies. Its product range spans AI-enabled smart glasses and related hardware and software systems that integrate speech recognition, natural language processing, computer vision and optical technologies. The company’s previous AI eyewear products have featured integrated models and ecosystem services, reflecting a blend of hardware innovation and advanced AI integration.

Rokid’s collaboration with a leading Chinese LLM developer and its ongoing product development efforts signal its continuing engagement in the competitive and rapidly evolving smart glasses segment, where companies seek to combine lightweight wearable form factors with sophisticated AI capabilities.
